We’ve all seen Rihanna in photos sitting in the front row of her favorite Dior shows but the time has come when she becomes a Dior girl herself. Back in March, an announcement was made the famous diva would star in the fourth installment of Dior’s “Secret Garden” campaign which was shot by Steven Klein in Versailles. Rumor has it she’s been having a hard time keeping this a secret because she is extremely excited to be a part of such a wonderful brand, not to mention her favorite designer’s ad campaign.
Now, a few months later, her ads have been revealed and we are completely addicted to what we’ve seen so far! Her ads bring glamour to the brand and are absolutely stunning. The print and video ads show the star in a fantasy-like sequence, wandering around the infamous palace and walking up the enchanted staircase, all while unbelievably gorgeous in Dior clothes and accessories.
Rihanna joins actresses Jennifer Lawrence, Marion Cotillard and Natalie Portman – who are all current faces of the Dior collection but she is the first black woman to front a Dior campaign.
Follow #secretgarden4 on social media to catch a glimpse of Rihanna’s Dior video and to keep up with the latest reveals!

Two new popular stores, Athleta and Garage, will be opening at Twelve Oaks Mall this spring. Two great stores to add to the Oakland County Mall, in our opinion. Montreal-based Garage is bringing their first Michigan store to Michigan and it’s known for it’s trendy, affordable clothes and fun accessories for tweens and teens. A girl’s boutique the community feels will be a big hit with local families. The boutique will be located on the lower level near Lord & Taylor and is scheduled to open within the first two weeks of May.
Athleta, known for their high quality fitness apparel is scheduled to open at Twelve Oaks Mall a few weeks later than Garage. Rumor has it the grand opening will be close to last week of May and will be located on the upper level near Sears. We’ve been told, Athleta will bring more to the community than it’s amazing fitness apparel. Athleta also plans to host local races, athletic events and helpful in-store classes.
We’ll keep you posted on the grand openings and the upcoming events to be held at Athleta. Be sure to stay tuned!

Academy Award winning Eddie Redmayne won the “Best Actor” title at this year’s Oscars for his role of Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything. If you haven’t had the chance to see the movie, Stephen Hawking is a character known for his scientific works and published writings who suffers from a rare-onset slow-progressing form of ALS. The disease paralyzed him over decades and has left him to communicate through a single cheek muscle attached to a speech-generating device.
We’ve all heard about ALS and the global social media buzz regarding the ALS “Ice Bucket Challenge” which shed even more light on the disease. Celebrities have taken a stand against the disease, Hollywood has as well through on screen characters and awareness worldwide has gone even stronger over the last couple of years. It is clear steps are being taken to end the terrible disease that is affecting so many.
Must Jewelry, a modern and trendy jewelry company, also commits to continue to strive towards ending ALS through a brand-new Ice Bucket themed line using their finest silver, gold and diamonds. Twenty percent of all sales go directly to the ALS Association, which is more than 65% of profits. The Ice Bucket line retails for $125 and is available in both men’s and women’s styles. Must Jewelry manufactures their own diamonds to the implementation into actual jewelry, the process starts in the mine and ends on the consumer’s finger. Each piece is hands on polished to perfection including the pieces created for ALS awareness. Want to learn more? Click here to view their website.
Big news is hitting the fashion blog world and it isn’t pretty for some. We’ve been told, Condé Nast-owned blog portal NowManifest that is known for hosting fashion bloggers including Anna Dello Russo, Susie Bubble and our favorite BryanBoy, has been shut down. If you’re a fashion blogger or a reader of fashion blogs then you know, NowManifest hosted some of fashion’s most prominent blogs and has made celebrities out of their writers.
The bloggers that used the platform, including Susie Bubble, Anna Dello Russo, Derek Blasberg, BryanBoy and Fashion Toast, were given notice of its termination last November so this isn’t new news. Now that the time has come, the mentioned bloggers are expected to continue to blog independently. This means, if they would like to continue they must from their own websites and take control without the help of NowManifest and Condé Nast. They will now be in charge of their advertising partnerships, content creation, photos & professional relationships.
The reason for change is simply because Condé Nast plans to put more focus on their leading site, Style.com. Last Summer, Condé Nast sold the company to Penske Media Corporation, but retained ownership of NowManifest and Style.com. Reorganization of their digital space and their social media efforts are in full force now.
Are we worried about these bloggers? Absolutely not. They currently have a great following and the status to succeed, now it’s simply up to them to hold their own. The NowManifest website’s last post went live on Monday and was a street style shot by WeWoreWhat. The post shows the bloggers in denim, on a New York City street. A grand last hurrah! Now we will watch these talented individuals soar on their own. Will you give them your support?
