Birmingham The Shopping District

Michigan has some wonderful shopping communities, small town boutiques and malls. Our team recently spent the afternoon shopping downtown Birmingham and enjoyed the many options available to holiday shoppers. Birmingham, The Shopping District has close to 300 retailers that offer a wide variety of clothing boutiques, gift shops, antique shops, and art galleries. There are many restaurants and eateries available as well for both breakfast, lunch and dinner. The entire shopping district is easily walkable and fun for all ages.

Of course, there are many, many more.  Click here to find more listings.
During our time in Birmingham, our team had a delightful lunch at 220 Merrill and spent some quality time with Linda Dresner in her Birmingham store. Dresner, both well-known and well-respected within the fashion community has worked in the fashion industry for over 30 years. Her first store opened in 1979 and was located on the second floor of Somerset Collection in Troy. Then in 1984, she launched her Manhattan shop which was open for approximately 25 years.  Dresner began her career as a beautiful model and quickly grew to be the “go-to” person of fashion once she opened her Manhattan store. During her impressive chapters in New York City, she was known to be a premiere retailer and dressed Jacqueline Kennedy, her daughter-in law Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, and many actresses and socialites within the city and beyond.

Certainly knowing Dresner has worked with so many high profile ladies, we found ourselves somewhat speechless while in her presence.  There’s just something about Dresner, her confidence, industry knowledge and of course her charm that took our breath away.

Linda Dresner is located at 299 West Maple Rd. We highly recommend you visit and shop Dresner’s champion labels for your upcoming holiday soirée.  She has plenty of casual and dressy styles to choose from including jewelry and accessories.
